When Banke Mayowa was captured through the lens for the first time in her senior year of high school, she noticed she had an interest towards the camera. Banke the 22 year old exuding a persona of confident and cocky, not only had a love for modeling, but also the love for creating aesthetics. Thus bringing her to pursue her passion as a full time creative director. Banke having nothing but success from presenting her own art GALA from Project CD, to being asked to co sign campaigns for magazines known as “WOKNOT”, to also help creative direct for other creatives within Houston. Becoming widely known for her orchestrating skills Creative Director Banke has only just begun her venture with aspirations to reach world wide.
Born in Nigeria and moving to America around the age of 5 Banke was already developing skills towards being a creative director as she says, “I’ve moved around a lot so I’ve had to be a very adaptable person…. Because of that when it comes to team building I’m very good at gauging who belongs with who.” Being blessed with these abilities to coordinate others plays a big role in her development that little did she know would lead to her being no better fit than to be a creative director. it all started after modeling for her friends whenever they wanted to take photos In high school, became a hobby. With this being a hobby Banke began to develop a curiosity for “behind the scenes parts of photoshoots” she says. Having no full background on it only sheer passion and the fruits of her organization, Banke decided to test herself by putting together her first big scaled creative project called Project CD. Project CD was a project that consisted of 8 photoshoots that were meant to represent 8 different music genres. As she says “I put together different teams of photographers, models, stylist depending on where I felt they would fit.” With that being considered what you could say is the first part of the project, Banke wrapped it all together by hosting an art gala for the photoshoots on her birthday, which consisted of a bar, food, dj, and merchandise. Having project cd/ gala being a success Banke made a statement for her name.

The success of her first project led her to being granted with a new opportunity that she just completed on an upcoming project for black history month, with a Houston magazine brand for creatives and more named “WOKNOT” to celebrate black history month, magazine had a Campaign, which was her first actual campaign for a brand as she says, “‘project Cd consisted of smaller teams, but for this, I had to actually have a whole production crew, I needed a videographer on set photographer, multiple different models, I needed chefs, a person recording behind the scenes, so many things……for it to go as great as it did was just so fulfilling” but much more can’t really be said about the project because she has to keep it under wraps.
