Female R&b Artist SYA “Dreamgirl Vol 1. EP” review

Houston Female r&b artist Sya knows how to set a vibe, that much is obvious with her latest Ep “Dreamgirl, vol. 1”. the young star in the making sets the tone with her first Ep by taking us on a funky and soulful ride through her emotions. having us wonder if were the ones that have been hurt in the moment as well.

I was riding down 59 and stumbled across an IG post shouting out an upcoming female artist. Sya was said to have a 90s feel about her music and lord knows I’m a 90s advocate. So I decided to take a listen and my g, I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. Mourning for some substance and passion in this day and age of music I was stunned by Sya’s voice and lyrical delivery. Outspoken about her situationships leaving you to feel every word she’s saying the passion in her seems to be everlasting. 

“I should be, covered in diamonds by you, I deserve fur coat linings and stars in my roof, you know that I do” sings Sya, pouring out her bittersweet emotions in her second song, “should be” on her EP. Bringing the listener closer to her heart by being so vulnerable, Sya brings the listener on a river of her emotions through the whole Ep with songs that speak of her toxic relations in songs like “just sayin” saying “because of you my new ni**a gets half of me.” as well as “one-sided” explaining how her ex-love still has a hold on her “I see you making plans, and moving on, where do I fit in?.” It’s what we hate to see but hearing it the way she delivered makes it sound like a good thing. Especially with the production of each song providing elements of soul, some funk, blues, and electric guitar.  Female r&b artist tape is a vibe for late-night drives or wine and dines 

Starting from just singing in her room and making cover songs to her inspirations to Putting together her first 6 song EP left me and I bet anyone who listened wanting to hear much more from her in her years to come.
