The Weeknd’s recent performance in Bogotá, Colombia not only dazzled fans with his incredible musical prowess but also had a significant economic impact on the nation. According to reports from Portfolio, a renowned Colombian media source, the acclaimed artist’s concert was instrumental in generating 1,500 employment opportunities. Furthermore, it engaged the services of 35 different companies and infused a staggering 800 million pesos into Colombia’s economy, showcasing the ripple effect of such grand events on local economies.

In addition to this remarkable Colombian stint, Abel Tesfaye, popularly known as The Weeknd, continued to leave a musical trail. Just a week before his Bogotá show, the artist enthralled fans in Monterrey, Mexico. This concert was particularly notable for featuring the debut of “Circus Maximus,” a collaborative effort from Travis Scott’s album, Utopia. The Weeknd didn’t stop there; he proceeded to entertain the audience with a mix of his iconic collaborations, including tracks like Rosalía’s “La Fama,” Kanye West’s “Hurricane,” and Future’s “Low Life.”

Statistics from July for Tesfaye’s ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ paint a picture of his immense success. Over its duration, he garnered a staggering $350 million. The 2022 North American segment of the tour alone raked in a whopping $148 million. While he continues to tour, the journey is expected to conclude later this year.

Highlighting his overarching success, The Weeknd’s 75-show spree has been touted as one of the most successful in the current decade. This astounding achievement has placed him as the fourth highest-grossing tour artist of the 2020s, narrowly edging out Ed Sheeran. However, this ranking might be in flux as Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour metrics are being assessed.

Further establishing his monumental influence in the music world, The Weeknd shattered records at London Stadium. A massive crowd of 160,000 enthusiasts flocked to witness his performance over two consecutive nights in July. Moreover, he set another record at the iconic Wembley Stadium, where he sold an impressive 87,000 tickets. The Weeknd’s global impact, both musically and economically, remains undeniably profound.
